Funding Secures Future of Region's LLENs

The Great South Coast Group welcomes the Victorian Government's announcement, which secures the future of the region's two Local Learning and Employment Networks.

Great South Coast Group is delighted the two LLENs in the Great South Coast region will be funded beyond December 2014. Glenelg and Southern Grampians and South West Local Learning and Employment Networks will share in $13.1 million funding across 31 operations in the state, following the Federal Government's decision to reduce its funding from $11 million in 2014 to zero funding in 2015.

The Great South Coast Board raised this issue with the Premier in June and applauds the Victorian Government's decision to take up where the Federal Government left off and support the LLENs and the critical role they play in identifying and addressing the needs of vulnerable young people. The LLENs are also key to the Beyond the Bell priority project.
