Prevention of Violence Strategy - Workshop 3 June

Get involved in the prevention of violence agains women and children in the Great South Coast region

The Royal Commission into Family Violence has now handed down its recommendations and action is underway across many sectors on this important issue.

The Great South Coast Prevention of Violence Against Women Strategy has completed its first action plan and is embarking on a new phase. We will be convening a workshop in Port Fairy to recommit and energise our communities into working to prevent family violence in our region.

Organisations as diverse as schools, councils, sporting clubs, faith groups and businesses can join the strategy to take steps to prevent violence against women before it occurs.

On 3 June, there will be a planning day for the second action plan of the Great South Coast Prevention of Violence Against Women and Children Strategy 2013-2017.

The planning workshop will be the ideal time to:
- Learn more about the issue of family violence and how your organisation can take action to prevent it
- Find out about tools, resources and support for your organisation to take action
- Hear about the evaluation of the strategy to date, including the programs and initiatives which have been successful
- Connect with others in the region to take collective action and learn from the experience of others

Registration is FREE and open to all representatives of clubs, workplaces and organisations in the Great South Coast ready to take action to prevent violence against women and children.
