Social Media Events Charter

Our Purpose

The Great South Coast Facebook, Instagram and website Events page exists to help people connect with their local community. It’s a combined churches initiative designed to welcome new residents and highlight events that bring people together.

We want this page to be a place where people can easily see what’s happening across our region—from church-run community events to council or local gatherings that build connection and belonging.
What We Post
We’ll share:

Community events that are open to everyone (for example: carols, musical events, youth events, family fun days, volunteer projects).

Church events that have a community or outreach focus.

Local council or community events that fit with Christian values.
What We Don't Post
To keep things clear and consistent, we won’t share:

Business or commercial advertising.

Events that are inward focused just for one’s church members.

Posts that promote a single church’s doctrine or viewpoint.

Anything political, divisive, or contrary to Christian ethics.

Personal promotions or fundraisers.
How It's Managed
All posts will go through the page monitor, Mal Munro in conjunction with the Socials and Website Team, before being shared.

The aim is to make sure every post fits the purpose of the page — building unity, showing care for our community, and reflecting the love of Christ in all we do.

If there’s ever any uncertainty about whether something fits, the monitor’s decision will be final.

Any images submitted for use will be reformatted to match the preferred specifications for the particular platform:

If you wish your images to be used exactly as you have submitted them, please aim to present them in the following sizes:

Facebook 1,200px by 630px (This image will be used on our website, too.)

Instagram 1,080px by 1,350px
