Many Communities: Working as One
Across the Great South Coast, there are at least 35 Christian communities that gather as an expression of church. Each Christian community has it’s own style, buildings and traditions but they are all united as one church and share a common purpose. Each community exists to serve, care and bless.
Every year the many Christian communities of the Great South Coast come together as one family for shared events. It maybe to walk together in the local community’s Christmas Pageant. Or to pray for the schools and business, local government, emergency services, clubs and residents of the Great South Coast. Annual combined Easter Sunrise celebrations take place at Normanville, Victor Harbor and Goolwa.

In each of the three major centres across our region local churches work closely together to support student wellbeing in our public schools. In conjunction with government and other agencies, trained and resourced pastoral care workers are provided in our public schools to ensure that students are receiving loving and effective pastoral care support.
The church across our region is committed to supporting student well-being and growth through compassionate pastoral care. The church also supports people going through tough and stressful times caused by circumstances beyond their control. With the ongoing support of all the local churches, centralised community care organisations are operating in Victor Harbor, Goolwa and Yankalilla to provide practical support and emergency care for all in our local community.
More details about how the church and other community organisations serve, care and bless people in this region can be found on the Great South Coast website.
